Island Lake Conservation Area is Still Closed, But You Can Still Hike In

The Island Lake Conservation Area is still closed during the last week of April (early spring) but the park is accessible from the north entrance through Hockley Road in Orangeville. A good day hike on quiet snow-covered trails, with just the sound of geese and other birds chirping. A few souls you will come across with at the trails to say hello to.

The benches along the stretch of the Vicki Barron Lakeside Trail are almost always occupied by hikers and afternoon strollers who want to bask in the cool afternoon sun.

One of the long boardwalks connecting the Lakeside Trails around Island Lake. You can walk, run, hike or bike around the trails.
